Yogi Tea: The Importance of Ayurveda in our Holistic Wellbeing

Review

© Anna The Traveller

I have loved Yogi Tea since I was a child, a historical and iconic brand, a certainty of wellbeing and quality. Ayurvedic infusions with refined aromas, organic ingredients such as warm spices, fruits and flowers, and magical atmospheres from all over the world…

I have always lived my moments of relaxation and meditation accompanied by a steaming cup of herbal tea: a moment of inspiration and mental and spiritual focus. And I have always loved to find, in the slip of each Yogi Tea sachet, a little inspirational message, almost a suggestion from the Universe, through which to guide my energies of the moment. As well as, on each box, a yoga practice to try out.

It is for these reason that today I feel inspired to review 4 of the Yogi Tea infusions that I love the most, reserving for myself a moment of inner and outer wellbeing at the same time.

Moon Salutation

How not to love Moon Salutation, Ayurvedic blend of eucalyptus leaves, white hibiscus flowers, and lemon balm, inspired by the Moon Salutation yoga practice?

As the brand says, “Fresh eucalyptus and mild minty notes open up the soul, while turmeric grounds us. Find peace and relaxation as you enjoy this quality herbal tea blend with white hibiscus and lemon balm. Just like the moon salutation in yoga, this Yogi Tea inspires us to stay in balance.”

Furthermore, “The Moon Salutation helps to relax and ground body and mind. It is therefore usually practiced in the second half of the day or whenever you feel the need for regeneration. The yoga exercise includes several asanas (yoga positions), which are performed in a flowing sequence, united with one’s breathing. The positions are performed according to the phases of the moon. The moon salutation has a meditative effect, strengthening your balance and mental focus.”

Here is the complete list of Moon Salutation’s ingredients, all from organic farming: Lemongrass, turmeric root, white hibiscus, liquorice, lemon balm, eucalyptus, dried lime fruit, peppermint, orange peel, lavender flowers, lemon peel, hops, black pepper, eucalyptus oil.

Inner Harmony and Relax

I continue my journey in Yogi Tea’s universe with two other wonderful blends: Inner Harmony and Relax. Two quite similar herbal teas but with different hues.

Inner Harmony focuses on the achievement of a state of calmness: “What you achieve in your inner life has an effect on everything around you. Inner harmony is a precious asset, and this tea will guide you to it. The journey begins with a moment of reflection, which you will be accompanied on by lemon balm, lavender flowers and cinnamon to give you a generous helping of calm. Once you have found your way to harmony, you can share it.”

Relax aims on the other hand at finding and appreciating the power of tranquillity: “A cup of Yogi Tea’s Relax is like a haven of peace in tumultuous times. The enticing aroma of chamomile and linden flowers is already enough to exude serenity. In combination with fruity rosehip, the waves are calmed. You can once more take the helm with complete tranquillity.”

Inner Harmony ingredients, all organic: Lemon balm, rooibos, liquorice, cinnamon, cocoa shells, basil, peppermint, chamomile flowers, rosemary, black pepper, fennel, lavender flowers.

Relax ingredients, all organic: Chamomile flowers, fennel, linden flowers, cardamom, barley malt, hibiscus, liquorice, alfalfa, raspberry leaves, orange peel, rose hips, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, black pepper.
