Scrolling through the Goddess Love Oracle deck for the first time was a real thrill.

I have always been in love with the magnificent art of Wendy Andrew, dreamlike and earthly at the same time, inspired by Goddess and Mother Nature. I already own the Goddess Dream Oracle deck by the same British artist, so I was very curious to explore this new edition dedicated to the Love of Goddess.

Each card of this oracle deck represents in itself a work of art and a source of profound inspiration. Each card is magical, ethereal, and rich in earthly meaning at the same time: on each of them a female figure is portrayed – a woman, a Priestess, or a Goddess – together with a multitude of animal and natural presences of strong symbolic impact.

Among the animals, which we can also consider for their shamanic meaning, we find a lot of wildlife such as the fox, hare, badger, deer, and owl, to name a few. Nature is represented in its four seasons and related archetypal elements, which are reflected in turn both in the age of the women portrayed – from maiden to crone – and in the plants and landscapes.

I loved how several women are depicted with a spiral painted on the forehead, a symbol representative of Goddess, and how woman, animal, and nature are skilfully combined in a single embrace of divine love. In addition, I loved the prevalence of purple and midnight blue colours in the cards, which too are evocative of Goddess and the spiritual dimension.

A keyword and a phrase correspond to each card, representing a state of mind or of being – Wisdom, Awakening, Journey, Creativity, for instance – which are then expanded in the accompanying booklet. I really appreciated the suggested reading methods: one card for a daily message or direct inspiration, or three cards for two very peculiar readings, Work – Leisure – People and Body – Mind – Spirit.

What are the cards that appeal to me the most in the Goddess Love Oracle deck? Many! But if I really have to choose three, I would definitely say the Stillness card, which is also the deck’s cover card, Journey depicting a shamanic journey, and Wildness and Freedom with my beloved woodland Goddess Elen of the Ways.
