Beltane: the season of fire, passion, fertility and abundance, and the sacred union between the male and female principles. Time of new life and renewed energy, in which we celebrate our personal power and the red threads that unite us to our deepest desires and relationships…

Seasons of the Witch Beltane Oracle is another wonderful oracle cards deck that I have been looking forward to with particular fervour, and which – after the Samhain Oracle and the Yule Oracle that I reviewed last year – continues on the Season of the Witch’s wheel of the year by Lorriane Anderson and Juliet Diaz, edited by Rockpool Publishing.

The evocative illustrations by Giada Rose transport me to the Otherworld of the Faerie Realm, in a wonderfully sensual key and guided by a fil rouge inspired by honey and bees, powerful symbol of nourishment and regeneration.

Male and female figures, horned deities, shamanic animals and traditional Beltane symbols follow one another in this oracle deck which, in its art, reminded me very much of Vicky Noble’s Motherpeace Tarot.

I loved many cards from this deck, such as Love Spell with its honey-based love concoction; Stone Circle inspired by ancient rituals performed inside stone circles; Oracle with its Priestess at work in her Temple; Earth Worship inspired by devotion to Mother Nature; and Morning Dew with a faerie woman bathed in morning dew, within a night landscape of birch trees.

The readings offered in the rich accompanying booklet are also very evocative: not only how to use single cards and classic readings, but interesting spreads such as the Maypole, the Flower Crown, the Goddess, and many others.

I promote Seasons of the Witch Beltane Oracle with flying colours and I strongly recommend it both as a gift for yourself or your witchy friends for the Yule season, or as a divination tool to be used all year round to recall the winter energies and atmospheres.
