The season of Beltane is here. I feel its magic strong in the air. I scroll through my collection of tarot and oracle cards with one hand, and a finger lingers on a deck of pure magic…
And the Pure Magic Oracle is exactly this to me: magic in its purest form, shrouded in an aura of mystery.
I love this deck and find it very compatible with the energies of this season and with nature that has awakened in all its glory. The warm and at the same time ethereal tones of Olivia Bürki‘s wonderful illustrations fly me to landscapes and elements that are hidden beyond the veil of the Mists of Avalon. The ravens on the cover and back of the cards, along with a purple Full Moon, bring me back to incoming messages from Goddess.
What I particularly like about the Pure Magic Oracle is the cards’ subdivision into four sets and four colours, corresponding to the four elements: Earth, Air, Water, Fire. This allows me to have an oracular reading that not only takes into consideration the meaning of each drawn card, but also put it in perspective with respect to each element.
Each card is expertly illustrated and contains a symbol, concept or Goddess, and a matching message. The description in the accompanying booklet gives detailed information for each card, as well as an additional message of “Pure Wisdom”. Each card is also combined with a “Pure Magic Spell”, which allows me to work further with the cards that I have drawn in the following days.
I am loving all the cards that have appeared to me in reading from this deck so far. But if I had to choose, I really loved Ancient Amulets and Hecate’s Path in the Earth Element; Mugwort Dreams and Raising Winds in the Air Element; Salamander and Brigid in the Fire Element; and Drawing Down The Moon and Opening Circle in the Water Element.
